Area boys declare support for Dimeji Bankole

Lagos - A group claiming to represent non-partisan youths of Nigeria has spoken out against what they see as unjust and unfair prosecution of former house of rep speaker, Hon. Dimeji Bankole.
Insisting that no one should be adjudged guilty until a court of law has proven such a person’s innocence to be a farce, the group called for all media houses, both online and offline, to cease and desist from spoiling the good name of Mr Bankole.
The group also pointed out the ludicrousness of the claim that Mr Bankole alone stole $1 billion dollars and hid same in a bank account in UBA.
“People are just calling $1billion as if it is small thing. Can any bank vault in Nigeria be big enough to contain $1billion?” the group’s spokesperson asked.
“Look, we know how big bank vault is. Don’t ask us how we know, but we know. And we can tell you that it is just a big lie that they are telling you people because there is no way one vault alone can contain that kind of big money. Na yam?”
Defending the character of the former speaker, the group also said, “How can you see a man that is always wearing white and call him ole? Everyone knows that only clean people wear white.”
The group also has asked that it should be recorded that they alone spoke out in defence of Mr Bankole while other people branded him a thief before giving him a chance to explain in court how the money was used for re-election.
“Publish it well well in your newspapers,” said the spokesman while addressing journalists at Ojuelegba in Lagos, the group’s meeting point.
“Let Honourable and everyone else know that we did not join them to be spoiling his name any how so that when they clear his name and they release him, he will know the people that are really his friends.”
