Abuja - Investigative journalists have finally uncovered the reason Nigerian pastors acquire private jets, and why churches of such High-flying men of God seem to do better in terms of miracles and Healings than churches of non-private jet pastors.
The brouhaha caused by the recent jet plane birthday gift given to CAN President, Pastor Oritsejafor, has divided the nation between those who want to become pastors too, and those who want to marry pastors, but it can now be authoritatively revealed that private jet ownership is a requirement for certain kinds of prayers - so called, High altitude prayers.
Secret papers obtained from cleaners of the CAN headquarters record a series of prayers held at high altitudes by certain pastors. Further investigation revealed that the prayer requests where from churches allover the country.
Apparently, for a long period, the custom amongst churches in Nigeria has been for pastors to collect prayer requests from their congregation, pray over the ones that require ordinary prayer, and send the other more serious requests to pastors who own private jets.
During investigations, it was discovered that the reason some churches prosper, even when their pastors do not own jets, is because such pastors have formed close friendships with pastors who own jets.
A source who agreed to speak under conditions of total anonymity, further shed light on high altitude praying.
According to him, "It is a biblical precedence that was set when Jesus went up different mounts to pray."
He also explained why pastors don’t just fly on commercial flights when they need to pray in the sky, close to heaven. He said: "Can you imagine a GOC and five of his top assistant pastors on a commercial flight, and they are praying powerful prayers, doing battle with demons, and speaking in strong tongues? Other passengers will think they are terrorists."
Finally, he explained the current rush by pastors to acquire private jets – or for their congregation to buy them one as in the case of Oritsejafor.
He said: “It is actually in the interest of the congregation and of Nigeria in general. When these Pastors have private jets, they can fly really high up and get very close to heaven and from there intercede on behalf of the rest of us. You know that Nigeria needs powerful prayers these days.”
