Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, to host talk show
ATIKULATE

Abuja - In what would appear to be a calculated move to silence his detractors and the rumour mill spreading falsehood about his future, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is set to become a day-time talk show host.

The habitual presidential candidate is reported to be in talks with media houses to explore content and reception for his new talk show to be aired on a yet to be disclosed cable channel.

In a statement released by his Media Office, his Media Secretary confirmed that the former Vice President will indeed be anchoring a new television show to be called Atikulate.

The media secretary further affirmed that the Vice President is particularly suitable for a show in which interviewees will be encouraged to tell-all and open up, having dealt over and over with rejection and broken promises himself.

Pundits and outsiders have all had different reactions to this news, ranging from surprise to complete bemusement.

A former aide, who chose to remain anonymous in order to speak candidly on the matter, was perplexed as he couldn’t understand what qualities would inform the constant-candidate’s decision, seeing as he is visibly lacking in a warm and approachable, TV-friendly persona.

A sampling of the opinions of a cross- section of ordinary Nigerians has revealed that while many are curious to see where the Former Vice-President will take his show, others simply think the idea ludacraze, and they have compared him to Sub-Zero of Mortal Combat fame wearing babariga. Another interesting comparison was Lurch of Adams Family fame, reading the news.

Sources hint that the maiden episode of Atikulate will kick off with an interview with Sarah Jubril.

Host and guest are expected to bond over reflections of the shellacking they both suffered at the recently concluded presidential primaries.

They are also expected to discuss Jubril’s next career move as a stand-up comic.

The pre-screened live audience has been advised to come with Kleenex as things might get emotional.

The Kleenex may however come in handy when attendees wet themselves from laughter.

In related news, a former President is reported to still be laughing on his farms somewhere in the southwest.
