General Buhari and Pastor Bakare to release duet single

Abuja – Retired General and Presidential candidate, Muhamadu Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has picked controversial Pastor, Gbolahan Babatunde Bakare, as his running mate for the 2011 presidential election, and the duo, already dubbed the ones to beat, have announced their plans to release a duet single.
This news coincides with other news coming out of Abuja suggesting that other presidential hopefuls are currently in hiding, dodging the moneybags who have supported their ambitions thus far.
The duet, which as of yet doesn’t have a release date, is expected to be produced by award-winning producer, Cobahms Asuquo, with lyrics by Don Jazzy, Asa, and MI.
The music video for the single will be filmed in South Africa, but due to the religious leanings of the candidates, scantily dressed girls will not be featured.
The purpose of the duet is to connect with young voters who have turned out in record breaking numbers to secure voter’s registration cards. Indeed, today in Nigeria today, not having a voter’s card is considered a social faux pas like still being on MySpace, or not owning a Blackberry Curve at the very least.
Following news of the Buhari – Bakare joint ticket, observers are already claiming that the April elections will be the most un-rigged in Nigerian history because even the most dare-devil of dare-devil ballot box snatchers would be held back by fear of Holy Ghost fire that the Pastor will call upon them, not to talk of the Malaikas the General will invoke to deal with them.
In related news, UK bookmakers, Willim Hill, have stopped taking bets on who will win the April elections. The betting company is however giving good odds on the Buhari – Bakare duet topping the charts in America.
