New reality show: At home with the Goodlucks

Abuja– Leaked papers from Aso Rock shows that the First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck, is in talks with producers over a Presidential reality show, At home with the Goodlucks.

The First Families romance with showbiz is a well documented fact, with the first couple hosting the stars of Nollywood to a presidential lunch just days ago, but no one could have expected this new project.

If the show goes ahead, it would be the first time a reality show has centred on a serving First Family, a point which producers hope would bring accolades to Nigeria.

The President, Dr Ebele Jonathan, has time and again displayed his love and support for new media and the youth, so it’s no surprise that he has assented to this groundbreaking project that would further endear him to his 170 million subjects.

He is credited with introducing Facebook toNigeria, and he once ran a media campaign promising that the youth of his nation would soon ‘LOL.’

The reality show, to be filmed inside Aso Rock, will capture the day to day events of the First Family.

Coming in the run-up to the next election, opposition elements are already claiming that the entire project is just a ploy to brainwash the electorate into believing a ‘scripted’ version of the First Family.

Producers of the show are however adamant that At home with the Goodlucks will be a true representation of how the Goodlucks live.

Sources reveal that in a pilot episode of the show, the First Lady can be seen attending to personal matters like awarding contracts and receiving lesser heads of state, while the President is captured in a more relaxed mood as he oversees the polishing of his collection of shoes.

It is not yet clear whether the first children will appear in the series as they school abroad.
