Nigerian government to monitor twitter and facebook to detect gays
29 Dec 2011
Lagos - The Nigerian government has announced new plans to monitor social networking sites for the purpose of identifying and prosecuting Nigerian homosexuals.
The senate had earlier debated and passed a bill banning same sex marriage thereby making it impossible for notable Nigerians like superstar entertainer, Denrele, to marry a woman.
The bill also prescribed 14 years imprisonment for those flouting the law and 10 years in jail for people who aid and abet gays, thus making it a risky venture to help strangers whose sexual orientation one does not know.
The God fearing senators who passed this most laudable bill have now become aware of plans by stubborn gays in Nigeria to hide their gayness and thereby avoid the necessary punishment.
To this extent the law makers have now demonstrated the superior intelligence that got them elected in the first place by coming up with the clever plan to smoke out the disgusting homosexuals through their twitter and facebook accounts.
In a leaked memo obtained by this website, plans are detailed of how a special virtual-world gay police would be set up to interact with Nigerians who may be carrying on with their inhuman gay activities in cyber space.
The gay-squad, as they are being called, would monitor the facebook and twitter accounts of Nigerians to identify people who have a disproportionate number of followers or friends of the same sex as them. This, according to the memo, is the first indication that a person might be gay.
Once such potentially gay Nigerians are discovered, members of the gay-squad would proceed to befriend them online and monitor their online interactions for clues such as a man referring to another man as 'my dear,' or a woman calling another woman 'guy.'
Details of identified gays would then be sent to a special branch of the secret police that would carry out arrests.
The senate sub committee on eradication of homosexuality and other sins has applied for and obtained approval of a budget of N 5 Billion to fund the activities of the virtual-world gay police.
