Lagos - Scientists working with the Nigerian institute of scientific research have expressed concern over people who use wrong-side earphones.

They described the phenomena as madwrongearphoneolocationism.

According to the men of science (no women were on the team) research has revealed that many people, especially young people, place onto their right ear, earphones clearly labeled with an L for LEFT, and earphones labeled R onto their left ear.

This failure to use the correct earpiece for the correct ear is particularly alarming say the scientists, because white people made the earphones and they - the white people - don't normally give instructions on how to use their products unless it is absolutely important that such products are used correctly.

The experts are currently awaiting feedback from earphone and earplug manufacturers who should be able to enlighten consumers on the known dangers of misusing of their products.

In the meantime the advice is for people to always use the L labeled earphone for the left ear and the R labeled earphone for the right ear.

It is better to be safe than sorry, said the scientists.

Earl grey deserves and award for this satirical observation. Ive always mused over how labeling earphones left or right really makes not an iota of difference. Nice to see someone else is/ was thinking like me
