Abuja – Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, has compared President Goodluck of Nigeria to Jesus Christ. This, while defending the granting of state pardon to wanted money launderer, former governor, notorious cross dresser and ex-convict, Alamieyeseigha.
The granting of the controversial pardon has already caused local and international furore, with countries like the United States going as far as threatening not to allow any more of their reality TV stars to visit Nigeria.
Abati has however expressed shock and dismay at the magnitude of vitriolic attacks on the person of President Goodluck following the granting of said pardons.
Abati noted that Nigerians have become desperately unchristian, unforgiving, and unable to find joy in the good fortune of others.
He pointed out that even Jesus forgave tax collectors and prostitutes, and that just like Jesus, the people now attacking the President are holding stones in their hands with intent.
He reminded the international community that to err is human; to forgive, divine.
He refused to respond to questions challenging the granting of state pardon to a fugitive still on the run but he assured Nigerians and the rest of the world that the President has promised that should Alamieyeseigha fall foul of the law again, he would not grant him a second pardon.
