Abuja - The Federal Ministry of Water has announced a sudden surge in water demand leading to fear of water shortage hitting those homes in Nigeria that usually get water.

Officials of the ministry are blaming the unprecedented pressure on water supply on a great number of Nigerians suddenly starting up pure water businesses.

This in turn they have blamed on the revelation in court by a lady accused of embezzling N14.5 billion meant for the payment of pensions, that she made $544,632 found in her account from pure water business.

Pure water business is a sign of a growing economy, all over the world water is being sold and multinationals are in the business, It is only a matter of time for the sector to settle down, at least it is better than stealing and being a civil servant

Frankly speaking, i disagreed with the ministry of water on its claim that Nigeria will run out of water supply. Assuming there is no pure sachet water in Nigeria, where will the ministry get its water supply for Nigerians? Will they pump their water supply from the moon or from the same earth? Or are they saying the 'Earth's Water Cycle' will not longer hold? Or God has decided His plan of this theory to be changed. On the other hand, if the ministry is planning to supply us water now, is it not the same volume of water they will still supply in proportion to private pure companies water supply as well?

Atleast now the nigerian govt. should stop permitting all this boring holes into our precious water table---and stop water from attracting all this foreign maggots who r responsible for this depletion as they have been doing to the oil industry n mining--CAN THE GOVT.OPEN EYES NOW?

In view of present circumstances govt. should retract all present licenses and stop further deterioration of water resources by these business people
