Wayne Rooney turned down Nasarawa United FC
He turned down the biggest offer ever made for a player in the Nigerian champions league

Nasarawa - Weeks after the Wayne Rooney transfer drama, an official of Nasarawa United FC has come forward to reveal that his club made a bid for the Manchester United player.

According to Malam Hussein, when other clubs snubbed Wayne Rooney after he said his club was crap and his boss was shit, the managers of Nasarawa United saw an opportunity, so they offered the player a mouth watering deal.

Wayne Rooney, however, turned down the offer to play for the Nigerian premiership league club, opting instead to return to his old job with his old club.

This unexpected turn of events left the managers and fans of Nasarawa United very angry. Reportedly, a riot broke out outside the club’s home grounds where supporters had gathered in anticipation of news of Wayne Rooney's transfer to the club. Some supporters are said to have chanted war songs and burnt effigies of the English player.

Malam Hussein, how was himself certain that Rooney would accept his club’s offer, expressed his shock and disappointment: "What we offered would have made him the highest paid footballer in the Nigerian premiership league. We really can't understand why he turned us down. Who turns down five hundred cows, one thousand goats, a hundred rams, and twelve camels? That's more than any herdsman can expect to own in an entire lifetime."
